- very simple language with many repetitions - the writer wanted to hammer dwelling house ALL that was happening, what characters idea etc., then there would be NO way for the reader to misunderstand anything (either the reader is supposedly not really smart, or the author needed to come across certain word-quota for the book), like the office with hell-animate being - how the fauna masters rode on beasts, and those beasts were BEASTS with BEAST-riders, OK? Or how (view spoiler)[ Makani told Naomi how Amelia-or-whatever - very elementary language with many repetitions - the author wanted to hammer home ALL that was happening, what characters idea etc., then there would be NO style for the reader to misunderstand anything (either the reader is supposedly not really smart, or the writer needed to meet certain word-quota for the book), like the part with hell-beast - how the animal masters rode on beasts, and those beasts were BEASTS with BEAST-riders, OK? Or how (view spoiler)[ Makani told Naomi how Amelia-or-whatever was killed past Darksire, which was closer to the starting time of their relations/centre of the book (or sth), and the same thing was repeated near the cease of the book - and weirdly Naomi acted like it was the get-go time she has heard it... Huh? (hibernate spoiler)]
- everything was incredibly vague and oversimplified, non only in regard to little details that help make a volume more realistic (IMO, like everyday actions performed by characters that are not tied to the plot of the book), but the major ones, as well, similar rules of magic and magical abilities - how he-and-she does this-and-that, where's the limit of 1's ability/ability, how quickly one can regenerate said power then on. That about certainly was completely intentional, because information technology allowed the author to exercise numerous ass pulls. And I hateful NUMEROUS. Convenience, so non nice to meet y'all.
- the characters were wooden puppets, no life in them at all. They come across, talk, movement, talk. Trivial to none descriptions during a dialogue (possibly except for the offset, where in that location were many long bones explanations of the earth, I think) - no matter whether a grapheme is good for you, injured, or close to dying - there's almost no indication of it during a dialogue or an action scene, no "he rasped/moaned...", no "moved despite the pain/pain slowing him down", nope, nope, nope.
- no rhyme or reason for their deportment other than author's says-and so.
- I was actually annoyed by the author'southward delaying certain explanations of things, like sth happens, the plot moves forward, sth else happens, and then the previous event/reaction of characters to it/figuring sth out/coming up with a program/etc. is explained/described. When [minor spoiler] (view spoiler)[Naomi got pulled into the hell while wearing an evening dress, since it was in that Nymphs-firm, she arrived in hell in some forest(?), killed some beasts, jogged a little bit, got attacked again, taken captive and walked with her captors uphill, and only And then it was mentioned that for some reason she wasn't wearing the clothes, but some "comfy dress"... - if there were no sexual content, information technology would hands exist a book for middle graders. Seriously.

Brutal short for me

I take noticed in past stories that the author makes goofs in gainsay situations or decisions. It will bother me a little, simply this ane had what I considered a doozy. I accept noticed in by stories that the writer makes goofs in combat situations or decisions. It will bother me a little, merely this ane had what I considered a doozy. Naomi learns that there is a tear in the veil and darksider is pulling through hell criminals to build his own regular army, who are draining supernaturals right and left, simply she doesn't tell the sister, the Dragon or the assassin. Nor does she tell the supernatural law or the council. Someone to handle it before this army gets stiff. Pretty certain the sisters and coiffure would accept taken all of an hr cleaning the identify up and taking out the trash.

At that place were times one sister took off to fight the bad guys and the other just hung out at the castle twiddling her fingers. The grouping'south are just also fractured. The writer rips them apart even though that isn't what those characters would do.

Lastly, I never saw the extreme control that Naomi showed in this story. She was a fairy that spread the love all through this story. Then she decided to become the no girl. It was also repetitive and unbelievable.

Makarik says let get of your magic and she pushes and pulls instead. In what world is that even trying to let get.? Makerik was really the simply good character in this story. The rest just weren't themselves.

Dragons, magic, fairies and more! I loved this fantasy world that was created and the characters introduced! This story focuses on Naomi a half fairy Mage. 2.75 stars actually: There are too many characters in this book. Naomi and Makani's relationship is forced down the readers pharynx as well speedily. Darksire and Firestorm audio hella cheesy. Whoa! This was great!

Although this begins in the previous book, we now encounter things through Naomi's optics as she helps her friends boxing the mages, vampires, fairies and other creatures that accept been caught up in he machinations of Darkside, Alden, the crazy cultists (deplorable, forgot their proper name), and potentially the Magic Council.

And then skillful, loved adding a new kick a$$ character to the lineup, particularly someone who throws a massive curveball into the plot.

The Dragon Built-in series can be read together or independently. Each serial features a different protagonist (Sera, Alex, Naomi) and has its own story arc. * Magic Games (Dragon Born Serafina, Book ii)
* Magic Nights (Dragon Built-in Serafina, Book 3)

So I wasn't convinced that I'd similar this more than than the other serial but actually this is my favourite. For a few reasons, almost chiefly, its more than interesting, shes a fairy that walks in World and the spirt realm. That to me is more interesting than beingness a banned species of mage.

I love Naomi, in the other books I felt like I wasn't and then connected to her, pretty disconnected to her, not considering her character is weak but because shes portrayed very promiscuous which I don't listen when we have a focus on her because y'all can see that her sexual comments are watered down more than when y'all but become the odd monologue with her.

I likewise love the love interest, he and her have chemistry, and you can feel it! Will 100% exist standing.

Naomi's magic has always been weak, so she has made up for it in kick-butt fighting skills. During a night of weird happenings Naomi is attacked by a mage in a cloak. After the attack she is pulled into another realm and meets Makani an exiled prince. Once she returns to her realm she vows to assistance him. He in turns promises to help her- she is an extremely rare and powerful spirit warrior.

Naomi is a spirited fairy/mage, ane who is confident and self-aware. She knows her strengths and caters to them. She knows her weaknesses and acknowledges them. She understands how her world works. She is relatable and loyal.

Makani is well of class hot and a dragon-built-in. He just seems too skillful to exist true. He has been trapped in another realm for centuries and easily accepts modern society. Not and so sure about that i. He is a gentleman, and has a moral code that he has no trouble adhering to.

The banter between the Naomi and Makani is comes naturally. The interactions with Sera, Alex and the dynamic trio were almost family oriented. Overall a good spin-off. I am interested in seeing where this i goes with the big baddie being who they are.

Smashing story, great plot, very piece of cake to follow. Looking frontwards to the residual of this series!

Different, simply good dissimilar

I really like this series. I so glad I read them in the recommended club even though information technology seemed odd. I like fantasy books, and this series seems to have information technology all. The hero's are female which is a nice change with the hunky, deadly sidekick boyfriend. So many different paranormal characters, non but evidently vamp, witches or shifters. Not bad story, great plot, very like shooting fish in a barrel to follow. Looking forward to the balance of this series!

Cracking story

I've loved Naomi since her showtime appearance, so I'grand glad she's getting her shot. I practise like her prince, and this is a good, solid step in her earth story arc.

Now the not then expert. I think she rushed this one a tiny bit too much on the editing front end--some silly mistakes left in. I'yard finding her 'spirit earth' a bit trope-ish, besides.

Otherwise an enjoyable read.

This is a very exciting adventure into the fairy world. Of course, you take to have your villains, too. The dragon mage is, at first, thought to be a villain only turns into a mighty hero. Enjoy the read.
